Bed bugs are parasites that are commonly found in sleeping areas of homes and hotels. They feed off of humans at night and during the day they live near the sleeping locations of their hosts.
An adult bed bug has a flat round body about the size of an apple seed. It ranges in color from brown to red, depending on when it last fed. Right after feeding, the bug is a bright red color which gradually fades to brown as it digests the human blood. Bed bugs are born lighter in color and turn brown as they mature.

If you have a larger problem that your usual do-it-yourself product cannot resolve, you can rely on our expert pest controllers to clear it up. Willamette Pest Control can solve your ant problem quickly and efficiently. Willamette Pest Control offers methods of ant control that are targeted to specific species.
Carpenter Ants are among the largest and most difficult to control ants that commonly invade properties. The fast-spreading ants are often found traveling in areas such as water hoses, downspouts and anything on the building’s exterior that has corners or edges. The ant control process begins with the technician identifying all carpenter ant satellite colonies. Although various baits and bait formulations are available, the primary methods for carpenter ant control are nest and barrier treatments. Perimeter treatments are also often commonly applied to the exterior of the structure.
If an infestation of Sugar Ants is identified in a property, the technician will locate where the ant activity is taking place and use appropriate bait at that location. Odorous house ant nests are almost always located outdoors. These tiny insects will travel great distances indoors to find food and water for the colony. A treatment will then be applied to the ant colony’s trails.

Complete Rodent Control Solution
Rodent populations grow very quickly so time is of the essence. It is best to target them when populations are small before it becomes a full-blown infestation. A successful and effective rodent control strategy typically involves sanitation measures, rodent proofing (exclusion), and population reduction (trapping).
When Willamette Pest Control services your rodent infestation, we approach it in a way that ensures the quickest possible results. We understand each home is unique and our professionally trained technicians will conduct a thorough inspection of your home, identifying any signs of rodent activity and potential entry points, taking the time to understand your individual needs. At the end of the inspection, your pest control professional will develop a customized plan to address your specific rodent problem.
Rodent-Proofing Your Home:
It does not take a very big hole for a pest to gain entry into your home. Rodents are capable of squeezing through holes that appear to be much too small for them – mice can enter a home through a hole as small as a dime; rats can enter through a hole as small as a quarter. The most successful and permanent form of rodent control is to limit shelter and prevent rodents from entering your home.
Our technician will inspect your home to find any rodent entry points – such as any holes, crevices, or gaps that are larger than 1/4 inch through which rodents could use to enter your home – and seal them. By removing the places rodents have to find shelter and rest, hide, or build nests and rear young, they cannot survive in large numbers. Wood piles and other rodent shelter sites such overgrown weedy areas should also be eliminated.
When a rodent infestation already exists, some form of population reduction (e.g., trapping) is typically necessary to help control the rodent population already inside the home. Many factors, especially placement, account for the overall success. Rats are very leery of anything new in their environment and will avoid a freshly placed trap so this process could take a few days or up to a few weeks. Our technician will check and promptly remove the rodents that are trapped. By not relying on inherently hazardous poisons, we can make sure rodents are disposed of properly, and avoid any unpleasant odors.
Sanitation and Vector Control
The most effective rodent control begins with prevention. Trash should be disposed of properly, and sanitary conditions should be impeccably maintained. Rodents can survive in small areas with limited amounts of food and shelter. So no matter how clean, all places where food is stored should be made rodent-proof as a preventative measure by keeping food tightly sealed in metal or glass containers. Both human and pet food is an incentive for rodents. Cardboard boxes are attractive to rodents, as they chew them up for use in their nests. Our pest control professional will provide you with detailed recommendations to remove objects which attract rodents.
The technician will also provide a thorough pest control treatment to eradicate vectors commonly living with rodents such as fleas, mites, roaches, and other feasting insects.
Long Term Monitoring:
An ongoing monitoring program ensures any exclusionary measures remain intact for the long-term. We will regularly monitor your home to ensure the rodent prevention plan is effectively working, making any necessary adjustments. We will consult with you and provide education on ways to prevent future rodent infestations. Our goal is to deliver a long-term rodent-free environment and to provide 100% customer satisfaction.
Your pet may be a member of your family, but sometimes it’s easy for them to invite an unwelcomed guest to take up residence in your carpets, couches, and baseboards, unintentionally causing a big household problem.
Getting Rid of Fleas :
Once you’ve established that your pet is infested with fleas or ticks, you must act fast. First, treat your pet; consult with your veterinarian to find the best treatment option. Secondly, you will need to thoroughly clean and treat the inside of your home – especially those areas where your pet spends a lot of time. Flea and tick infestations can be difficult to eliminate. Our professionally trained pest control experts will provide a comprehensive treatment to rid your home of fleas.
Common Cockroaches in the Portland and Salem areas.
German and Brown Banded cockroaches are the most common we find in our area. They are found hitching a ride on food items that are brought into the kitchen and then all they need is a place to hide and start reproducing. Each female can produce 14-48 new cockroaches with each new egg sac. She can live for 6 months, in other words, each female can produce hundreds of others.
Cockroaches are credited with aggravating and causing allergies and asthma especially in small children. Their fecal matter can be found near their nest sites. They like to hide in small cracks and crevices all over the kitchen or anywhere abundant food and water can be found.
The bottom line here is that before you know it you are infested and you didn’t even know that they were there. We have created one of the most effective treatment programs in the business. Coupled with a good sanitation program, our cockroach treatment can’t be beat. Give us a call and we’ll get you back to a cockroach-free environment.
